Female pug, 18 months old

Her previous owner dumped her at a shelter, because supposedly she was pregnant. Yesterday at her vet appointment, we found out that she is not pregnant, but she is heartworm positive and full of whip worms. This tiny little 10 pound dog is going to have to go through heartworm treatment next week to save her life. Treatment consists of 2 arsenic-based injections, given deep in the muscle of her back on two consecutive days, followed by a month of crate rest. Her sad story and amazing spirit have really touched my heart!

Donations for Estelle's treatment can be made via Paypal to HandsHeartsPaws@cox.net or called in via credit card to Walnut Creek Veterinary Clinic at 402-505-5445. Thank you!
