Celebrate

1/6/09

Today I am celebrating, because I have been offered a one month Artist in Residence at the Great Expectations Creativity Center. The center is located on 67 wooded acres in LaGrange, TX, and I am already making lists of possible supplies to take and new ideas to explore. Imagine having a whole month of uninterrupted time, with no responsibilities except to create art. My residency isn't until March 2010, but I am so psyched!

You'll be a different person by then, wouldn't you think? A lot about your art can change in a year. Be careful about putting things on hold to save for your residency. But I'm sure you wouldn't do that. No, that's more like something I'D do! vbg

That is going to be such a special time Karen. It is amazing what we can accomplish when we don't have the day to day responsiblities whether those responsibilities are taking care of others or just taking care of ourselves, or working at a 9-5.
My best to you for a wonderful time of discovery.

Thanks everyone! I feel really lucky to have this opportunity, and I'm looking forward to it immensely. Right now, my lists for this residency are only ideas. I know I will change in a year's time, as will my art. But it is good to have some ideas and keep revising them between now and then.

If you have any time to travel into the hill country of Texas, I am about 2 hours from La Grange and would love to have you come stay the night and visit another part of the state. let me know if you will have the time! Susie
