A Pup & His Toy

Noah brings so much fun and laughter to our lives! He loves to play and tease and run and have fun! His favorite toys are small stuffed toys with squeakers inside. This afternoon he took one outside with him, and here are the photos...

Uh oh, busted again!

It's more fun when you really get into it!

Well, maybe laying down is ok, too.

Who are you looking at?

Ok, I'm done now.

Autumn is in the air!

I love all of the colors of the leaves changing on the trees! This is one of my favorite color palettes, and I have been painting all week in this range of colors. Two new works of art are on the design walls, and it is time to buy more paint.....LOL.

The Power of We

Today is Blog Action Day, a day when bloggers around the world unite to make a difference. This year's theme is The Power of We.

Fiberart For A Cause was started several years ago by a very good friend of mine, and over the years she has rallied fiber artists from all over the world to help her raise funds for the American Cancer Society. To date, we have raised more than $220,000 and we are still going strong!

Mark your calendars for February 12 & 13, 2013 to help us celebrate our next big fundraiser event!

Artwork from myself and ten more amazing and generous artists will be up for bid:
      Pamela Allen
      Pokey Bolton
      Linda Colsh
      Jane Davila
      Vivika DeNegre
      Jane Dunnewold
      Jamie Fingal
      Yvonne Porcella
      Laura Wasilowski
      Virginia A. Spiegel

What a great line-up of artists, all donating their artwork, so that 100% of all money raised will go to the American Cancer Society!

It's Official!

Noah is a toy hog! One by one, he takes all of his favorite toys out of the living room toy basket, and brings them into "his" dog bed in my office. And if we put them back in the toy basket, he starts all over again. He looks so cute surrounded by all the stuffed toys, and it makes him happy, so we just let it go now.

Kimmel Harding Nelson
Center for the Arts

Sunday I spent 6 hours painting cloth and paper at the Kimmel Harding Nelson Center for the Arts in Nebraska City. There is a huge classroom there with big sinks and the perfect set-up for artists to paint. It was one of those days where I was truly "in the zone", and it felt great!

This is the chandelier in the dining room of the art center. Even though I am not a huge chandelier fan, I love the lines and shadows on this photo.

Cayman

Little Cayman weighed 4 pounds and was only 5 weeks old when she arrived in rescue. We agreed to foster her, and she managed to turn our household upside down in the following three weeks.

She is so cute and playful and friendly! She loves everyone, and she loves to play outside with our dogs. She even did great with crate training and housebreaking.

This is her favorite "hiding place". She thinks the other dogs can't find her here, but when they run past, she ambushes them.

And today she got adopted into a wonderful forever home! She will be the pampered princess and only dog for a couple that are already in love with her. Her new name is Mia, and they are thrilled to be her forever parents!

Waiting Downtown

I am rarely without my camera, and sometimes that fact pays off. The other morning I was downtown, and I found myself waiting for a store to open. So, I pulled out my camera and took a dozen or so photographs. This morning I had a chance to process some of them, and I like the results so far!

More Collages

Another junk mail collage, lots of color in this one!

And a very neutral junk mail collage. I wish I had more of the numbers in blue circles.

One of my typical morning collages, not necessarily made from junk mail.

And an artist trading card with an actual ash leaf collaged on it. I always get in the mood to create collages with actual leaves in them around this time of year. It will soon be time to gather bright red maple leaves for collages.
