Mountain Stream

This is a detail shot from a piece that I have been working on/struggling with for several months. In the background is a piece of cloth that I painted, and I think it is very effective to convey water rushing down in a mountain stream. On the surface are three-dimensional tree trunks. I like the imagery so far, but representational art is always something I struggle to complete. For now, I am stymied, and the piece remains on my design wall for further contemplation. Maybe I need some stitched branches or snippets of leaves......

Your daily collages are terrific Karen but I absolutely love this cloth piece. I couldn't get a very big picture of it to see it in detail but to my eyes the only "improvement" (and I'm using the word very loosely!) would probably be some extra stitching but it would be on the minimalist side of things. The painted background is just mesmerising!

I agree with Debbi, Karen. When I saw it I thought 'wow!'.

I agree, stitched branches. The water is perfect.

or maybe you could just leave it alone. It's lovely. But it is YOUR piece, and whatever you choose to do, will be the right thing.
