Kangchenjunga

8.25"h x 7.5"w

This piece was created for the Tiny Textiles exhibition. It is inspired by a photo of the North Face of Kangchenjunga. Kangchenjunga is the third highest mountain in the world. Located in the Himalayan range in Nepal, its elevation is 28169 feet (8586 meters). I loved the irony of making such a small piece about such a huge mountain!

I really like this. An intresting background fbric. Did you paint it yourself? Maybe Shiva Sticks?
The sense of the mountain height comes through well.

Thanks, Carole! All of the fabrics in this piece were painted with acrylic paints. I haven't experimented with the Shiva paintsticks yet.

Karen ... I always love your fusion of the Natural and the Architectural. Is there any chance of seeing a larger image or a detail shot?

I like the blue colors, and the variations of blue.
It's surprising how small the piece is because it seems much larger.
